W allace Chan is a world-famous jeweller and innovator, a visual artist who transcends the borders of contemporary design; he exhibits internationally and participates in prestigious art fairs. He is famous for his jewellery creations and extremely fantastic sculptures and is also the first Chinese artist of contemporary jewels to have work included in the permanent collection of the British Museum. Chan was born in Fuzhou, in south-east China in 1956 and later moved to Hong Kong. At the age of 13 he was forced to leave school to start work and support his family.
