One of the most extraordinary gifts of nature is undoubtedly the diamond for its unique quality, beauty, preciousness and antique origins. Born in the depths of the earth millions of years ago, diamonds have embarked on a journey which has led them to the earth’s surface, where hundreds of expert hands have welcomed them, processed them, transformed them into magnificent jewels. The word diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas” which means unconquerable. It was mentioned as early as the 1st century A.D. in Naturalis Historia by Pliny the Elder, who considers the diamond the most precious and hardest of all stones.
