    Jade Treasures
  the symbol of a civilisation in history of Chinese culture. With the name “skystone” it has embodied beauty, justice, and knowledge: in 221 BC, the Emperor Qin Shi Huang chose the famous jade Ha Shi Bi for his imperial seal. To show the importance of this gem in the Eastern World, archaeological discoveries have found that while Western prehistory is divided into the Stone, Iron and Bronze Age, Chinese prehistory includes the age of the Stone, Jade and Bronze weapons. Since 1784, following the discovery of deposits in Burma, jadeite jade called Imperial jade began to be traded. It was of a brilliant green colour, translucent and very difficult to work. Myanmar (former Burma) is however better known as a producer and exporter of rough stones while the processing is done in China, from where the manufactured goods are exported all over the world.
