BUCKLE COLLECTION
The showcase set-up is designed by Sogand Nobahar. The exhibition room is enriched by giant posters of the buckles made with photographs taken by the photographer Umberto Barone, reproduced in the book "Buckle Up! Due secoli di fibbie - Buckle Up! Two centuries of buckles".
The Bijou Museum, unique on the theme of costume jewellery in Italy, was founded in 1986 in Casalmaggiore (CR), an historic bijou district since the 19th century. The Museum collection hosts more than 20 thousand pieces among non-precious jewels and ornaments, but also machinery and archive photos, which bear witness to the history of fashion and technology from the end of the 19th century to the threshold of the new Millennium. The Bijou Museum also organises themed exhibitions to enhance the Italian and international bijou tradition like the new trends of the contemporary jewel. It also proposes educational activities for schools, groups and families, guided tours, creative workshops, and is equipped with a tactile path for blind and visually impaired people.
