DMCC UPDATES THE CODE OF CONDUCT FOR AUCTIONS
The Dubai DMCC Free Zone has perfected the auction process at the Dubai Diamond Exchange, which is already the largest diamond auction structure in the world.
In the new initiative,
DMCC has created a code of Conduct for best practices of bids within the DDE.
It is a unique initiative in its kind worldwide.
Membership in the Forum is by invitation and open to members of the DDE who have conducted at least two auctions in the 12 months preceding the creation of the Forum.
The current members include Trans Atlantic Gem Sales, Stargems, Koin International, Gem Auctions, Kruger Diamond Traders, and Billiton Diamond Auctions, which have overall completed more than 60 auctions in Dubai in 2022.
The members will be
able to use the logo “Tender Best Practice Forum” to show their role in improving the standards of the sector. “Dubai plays a key role in facilitating global diamond trade
and in supporting the sustainable growth of the sector,” declared Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive President and CEO of DMCC. “This status implies a significant opportunity to guarantee that the standards of the sector are constantly improved and best practices are implemented correctly”.
