Citando la visione dell'entità, “L'orgoglio dell'attività mineraria della Namibia-fino al 2050 e oltre”, Jacob è stato fermamente convinto che nel sottosuolo siano rimaste risorse più che sufficienti per sostenerla. “Spetta a noi l’onere di ideare modi intelligenti ed economici per estrarre questa risorsa in modo efficiente e produttivo per sostenere queste operazioni”, ha osservato, aggiungendo che la società ha sicuramente le persone e le competenze per eseguire tali operazioni.
NAMDEB WILL REINVEST THE REMISSION OF ROYALTIES
The chief operating officer of Namdeb Diamond Cooperation, Jurgen Jacob, believes that the government’s decision to grant Namdeb a remission of royalties from 10% to 5% is beneficial for everyone. Through this remission, the mining giant will save close to 1.5 billion Namibian dollars, which can be used to keep the mine open for longer than expected.

He commented that the loss of earnings through the remission of royalties,
in terms of what the government can earn through this remission,
will ultimately earn the government a profit of about 40 billion Namibian dollars in taxes and royalties. Jacob is sure that the mine can produce diamonds up to 2050; he gave this assurance when he presented the expansion plan for the diamond mine, during a conference on investments, at the recent Oranjemund Diamond Festival.
“My new life will lead us to 2038, and this gives us time to carry out the necessary amount of exploration and development of projects, to lead the rest of the way to 2050”, claimed Jacob enthusiastically. Quoting the view of the entity, “The pride of the mining activity of Namibia to 2050 and beyond”, Jacob was strongly
convinced that there are more than enough resources in the subsoil to support it. “The responsibility of conceiving intelligent and economic ways to mine this resource efficiently and productively to support these operations is up to us”, he commented, adding that the company surely has the people and the skills to carry out such operations.

I prezzi dei diamanti fancy color si sono dimostrati notevolmente sostenuti nel secondo trimestre del 2023, in particolare i diamanti gialli hanno registrato un notevole incremento. I dati della Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF) hanno mostrato che il prezzo medio di tutti i colori e dimensioni dei diamanti fancy color è aumentato dello 0,5%.
In tutte le categorie di colore, il grado Fancy Vivid ha registrato l'aumento maggiore, pari all'1,2%. Inoltre, Fancy e Fancy Intensive hanno registrato
un aumento complessivo vicino allo 0,3%, mentre i diamanti gialli hanno raggiunto un aumento dell'1,3%, oltre ai rosa e i blu che hanno entrambi registrato un aumento dello 0,2%.
YELLOW DIAMONDS STEER THE PRICE INCREASE OF FANCY COLOUR DIAMONDS
The prices of fancy color diamonds have proven to be remarkably high in the second trimester of 2023, in particular yellow diamonds have recorded a considerable increase.
The data of Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF) has shown that the medium price of all colours and sizes of fancy colour diamonds has increased by 0.5%.
In all colour categories, the Fancy Vivid grade has recorded the biggest increase, equal to 1.2%. Fancy and Fancy Intensive have also recorded an overall increase close to 0.3%, while yellow diamonds have reached an increase of 1.3%, as well as the pink and the blue which have both recorded an increase of 0.2%.
