Dagli anni '60 è emerso un progetto internazionale di designer orafi che pongono l'idea artistica al centro del loro lavoro. “Jewellery & Garment”costituisce un'interazione tra due discipline affini fra loro, la gioielleria e la moda. Gioielli e moda sono presentati nella mostra come entità uguali e corrispondenti. I gioielli d'autore contemporanei si affiancano a moda vintage d'avanguardia, ambedue provenienti da collezioni private. I primi approcci rompono radicalmente con una concezione tradizionale della gioielleria, ma in seguito le opere di una generazione più giovane di artisti non sono solo anticonvenzionali, ma si dedicano anche a temi socialmente rilevanti per la nostra epoca. Si tratta di opere innovative e sperimentali con un'impronta individuale, ma indipendenti dalle mode stagionali.
Since the 1960s an international project of jewellery designers has emerged which puts the artistic idea at the centre of their work. “Jewellery & Garment” is an interaction between two similar disciplines, jewellery and fashion. Jewellery and fashion are presented in the exhibition as equal and corresponding entities. Contemporary designer jewels are placed alongside vintage avant-garde fashion, both originating from private collections. The first approaches make a radical break with a traditional conception of jewellery, but then the works of a younger generation of artists are not only anti-conventional, but also dedicate themselves to socially important themes for our time. They are innovative and experimental works with an individual imprint, but independent from seasonal fashions.

UNDER THE SPELL OF MOUNT ARARAT
TREASURES FROM ANCIENT ARMENIA

L’Armenia e il Monte Ararat sono i protagonisti della mostra “Sotto l'incantesimo del Monte Ararat - Tesori dell'antica Armenia”, che racconta una storia ricca di cultura e di splendidi manufatti provenienti dal Museo di Storia dell'Armenia a Yerevan. La mostra espone circa 170 preziosi esemplari, dall’età della pietra a quella del bronzo e oltre, sottoforma di ornamenti d'oro e d'argento, armi, ceramiche e figurine in bronzo a forma di animali e guerrieri, a testimonianza della ricchezza archeologica dell'Armenia, dai primi secoli fino all'avvento del cristianesimo. Uno dei punti salienti della mostra è rappresentato da una reliquia dell'Arca di Noè, si dice trovata ai piedi del Monte Ararat nel IV secolo d.C. e custodita nella cattedrale più antica del mondo: la cattedrale di Etchmiadzin in Armenia.
Armenia and Mount Ararat are the protagonists of the exhibition “Under the spell of Mount Ararat – Treasures from ancient Armenia”, which tells a story rich in culture and of the magnificent artefacts from the History Museum of Armenia and Yerevan. The exhibition puts on show 170 precious items, from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age and beyond, under the form of gold and silver ornaments, weapons, ceramics and figurines in bronze in the shape of animals and warriors, as evidence of the archaeological richness of Armenia, from the early centuries to the advent of Christianity. One of the salient points of the exhibition is a relic of Noah’s Ark, which it is said was found at the feet of Mount Ararat in the 4th century A.D. and held in the oldest cathedral of the world: the cathedral of Etchmiadzin in Armenia.
