Il 10 ottobre 2023 si è tenuta presso il Teatro Sociale di Valenza, “Valenza Gem Forum”, il primo appuntamento dedicato al distretto piemontese dell’alta gioielleria. Promosso da Fondazione Mani Intelligenti con la collaborazione di Italian Exhibition Group/Vicenzaoro e con il patrocinio del Comune di Valenza, il Forum si è proposto di riunire le eccellenze della gioielleria valenzana per un confronto sulle strategie dell’alto di gamma. I partecipanti appartengono alle principali categorie del settore: importanti realtà imprenditoriali del territorio, grandi maison internazionali, oltre ad associazioni di riferimento e istituzioni locali. Nell’occasione sono state affrontate le tematiche chiave per la produttività del distretto: dai trend di consumo all’approvvigionamento di pietre preziose e diamanti ed altro ancora.
On 10th October 2023, the Social Theatre of Valenza has hosted “Valenza Gem Forum”, the first event dedicated to the Piedmont high-end jewellery district. Promoted by Fondazione Mani Intelligenti with the collaboration of the Italian Exhibition Group/ Vicenzaoro and the sponsorship of the Town of Valenza, the Forum has proposed to bring together the excellence of Valenza jewellery for a discussion on high-end strategies. The participants belong to the key categories of
the sector: important local businesses, large international maisons, as well as trade associations and local institutions. During the event, key themes have been discussed for the productivity of the district: from consumption trends to the procurement of precious stones and diamonds and more.
Il British Museum di Londra ha intrapreso un’importante quanto singolare iniziativa per il recupero delle migliaia di gemme e gioielli antichi che ritiene siano stati rubati dalla sua collezione. Ha diffuso una formale comunicazione al pubblico di tutto il mondo con la richiesta di fornire informazioni relative agli oggetti mancanti, presumibilmente rubati o comunque scomparsi, rivolta a chiunque ne sia in possesso. Su una pagina del sito web del museo vengono riprodotti dettagli e immagini degli oggetti fotografati, oltre all’inserimento degli stessi nell’Art Loss Register. Fra gli oggetti mancanti figurano gioielli con pietre preziose di epoca classica e romana, oltre a diversi anelli d'oro, orecchini e gioielli della tarda età del bronzo (dal XV all'XI sec. a.C.) e dei periodi ellenistico e romano.
The British Museum of London has undertaken an important and unique initiative to recover the thousands of gems and antique jewels which it believes have been stolen from its collection. It has issued a formal communication to the public worldwide with the request for information on the missing objects, presumably stolen or disappeared, to anyone who may be in possession of them. A page of the museum’s website reproduces details and images of the photographed items, as well as insertion of the same into the Art Loss Register. The missing objects include jewels with precious stones of the Classic and Roman eras, in addition to several gold rings, earrings and jewels of the late Bronze Age (from the 15th to the 11th century B.C.) and of the Hellenistic and Roman eras.
