La collezione di Susan Grant Lewin comprende le opere di 90 artisti internazionali che vedono nella gioielleria un mezzo stimolante, in sintonia con l'arte contemporanea, il design, l'artigianato e la tecnologia. Gli artisti utilizzano per le loro creazioni materiali come oro, diamanti e perle, ma anche lenti da sole e peli di capra, esaltando l'immaginazione con tecniche innovative e oggetti concettuali. Sulla forma dell'anello gli artisti realizzano opere estrose disposte intorno a sei temi: dal Reale al Surreale, dai Disegni nello Spazio, dall'Oscurità alla Luce, dal Tenero al Duro, dalla Geometria in Evoluzione a Tutto Colore. Gli anelli in mostra confermano la singolarità di artisti che hanno reinventato una forma di gioielleria, che unisce il senso del classico a quello contemporaneo dell'artigianato sperimentale.
The Susan Grant Lewin collection includes the works of 90 international artists who see jewellery as a stimulating medium, in harmony with contemporary art, design, craftsmanship and technology. The artists use materials such as gold, diamonds and pearls, but also sun lenses and goat hair, enhancing the imagination with innovative techniques and conceptual objects. According to the shape of the ring, the artists craft dynamic works that revolve around six themes: from Real to Surreal, from Drawings in Space, from Obscurity to Light, from Tender to Hard, from Geometry in Evolution to Full Colour. The rings on show confirm the uniqueness of artists who have reinvented a form of jewellery, which joins the classical with the contemporary of experimental craftsmanship.

Nella prestigiosa cornice della Melissa and Keith Meister Gallery, il Museo Americano di Storia Naturale celebra le splendide collezioni di Van Cleef & Arpels, la grande Maison francese di alta gioielleria. “Garden of Green” è un verdeggiante arcobaleno di pietre preziose, riservato appunto ai soli gioielli impreziositi da gemme verdi, suddivise in sette categorie, tra cui smeraldo, giada di giadeite, peridoto, crisoprasio di malachite e calcedonio verde. Sullo sfondo di una scenografia di ombre arboree sfumate in verde, sono in mostra 44 esemplari, 32 dei quali esposti per la prima volta negli Stati Uniti, tutti provenienti dalle collezioni della Maison, che, fin dalla sua fondazione nel 1906, disegna gioielli e orologi ispirati alla leggerezza della natura, alle sue creature e ai suoi colori.
In the prestigious setting of the Melissa and Keith Meister Gallery, the American Museum of Natural History celebrates the magnificent collections of Van Cleef & Arpels, the important French high jewellery Maison. “Garden of Green” is a lush rainbow of precious stones, reserved for only jewels embellished with green gems, divided into seven categories, including emerald, jadeite jade, peridot, chrysoprase of malachite and green chalcedony. In the background, a setting of tree shadows shaded in green, 44 items on show, 32 exhibited for the first time in the United States, all originating from the collections of the Maison, which, since its foundation in 1906, has designed jewels and watches inspired by the lightness of nature, its creatures and its colours.
